"Evening of Gold"

I love the spontaneous magical feeling of making digital art. I made this one in the Dogwaffle program and posted it in my favorite thread at in Jaydub's quickie digi thread in the Abstract/Contemporary forum. So many amazing works and wonderful friends in there!

"Red Sky" Acrylics on stretched canvas

"Escape" Acrylics on unstretched canvas.

This is acrylics on stretched canvas and kind of a dark theme for me. I retitled this one because I realized after I had finished it I had put several references to death in here. So depressing but it helped me cope with my feelings at the time. My father had recently passed away from cancer and my cat had been diagnosed with leukemia and only lived a couple of months after I painted this one. References to death: the spiders/web, leaves turning and falling from the tree, the inchworm which in an old wives tale meant if you find one crawling on you that it was measuring you for your coffin, the red/black colors. the weird blue cells (maybe cancer)

"Snowy Dusk"
I also like painting in the 4x4 art squared format. There is even a group of artists doing 4x4's in Yahoo and Ebay. I joined both groups because I liked the larger size format. I tried doing ACEOs but found the surface too small for my taste. The following are both original mini paintings done in acrylics on 140 lb. watercolor paper and they're only 4x4 inches. Both are currently for sale at

and "Blue River Mountain"

In this painting, I used the reference image library in for the outlines of the walking couple in a photo shared by Katefre. I did the field and sky from my imagination. Acrylics on stretched canvas and it's currently for sale at

More paintings I've done.....

"Blue Moon Night Magic" sold to a gentleman in New Jersey
Acrylics on unstretched canvas

This is an original painting I did and sold to a lady in Arkansas. She told me she has it hanging in her office at work. I always wanted to paint more similar to this one. Title "Silver Moon Blue Night" A couple of years ago it was a Saturday night and there was an occurence of a blue moon. The night was so lit up and almost magical that I felt a very strong urge to paint what I was seeing and feeling so I stayed up all night and did this painting.
