THE JUBILANT CHERRY TREE ~ I just did this one last weekend and it's an ACEO size (2 1/2 X 3 1/2 inches) painted in a surreal style. It is painted with acrylics on 140 lb. watercolor paper. Have you ever tasted the delicious dessert called 'cherries jubilee' and do the trees the cherries are harvested from have to be happy? This little tree appears to be happy and is gladly giving up it's fruit for this tasty dessert! I listed this on on e-bay. I wanted to paint more than one last weekend but I just ran out of time. The other one I painted isn't finished and is in the 'doo-doo' stage right now!

Is anyone into genealogy, tracing your roots and seeing who your ancestors were? There's a family website I belong to that are descendants of my late Father and Grandmother's people the Yadons, and I just found out I was veeerrry distantly related to the late Marlon Brando!!! http://www.genealogy.com/famousfolks/marlonb/ OMG I've been having fun with that one and I teased my husband that he had better be nice to me from now on since he was the famous actor who had starred in the 'Godfather' movies LOLOL! I actually never even watched those movies because I don't care for violence in movies but I may have to now. His mother was a Pennebaker (Pennsylvanian German) and my ggggg?grandfather was married to one of the Pennebakers. Cool stuff! I told my daugher and she hardly knew who he was and her boyfriend said, who's Marlon Brando?? :) Oh well I was excited about it!

'Appleabstract' ~ This is a digital painting I did tonight and it made me think of apples. :)

I just read the most wonderful and informative thread started tonight in the Wetcanvas business forum by the artist Maggie S. She did an in-depth interview with the owner of the Chasen Art Gallery and this answered so many questions I have had about dealing with art galleries. To read her interview, you can either go to her blog:

http://greywarenart.blogspot.com/ (plus see her beautiful artwork) or read it in the Wetcanvas business forum. I gave her thread in Wetcanvas a 5 star rating! A big kudos to her for doing this research and interview!

Green Forever Green and Frosty Pumpkin ~ I did 2 more little aceo paintings in acrylics on 140 lb. watercolor paper. Instead of a 'painting a day' artist I guess I'm more of a 'painting every weekend' artist since that's when I usually get 2 or 3 of these done. I listed these on e-bay today.

More wild and weird trees ~ I just listed these two on e-bay. I had painted 'Evening Dew Tree' (acrylics on 140 lb. watercolor paper) several months ago but I just finished 'Tsunami Tree' (acrylics on Reeves cotton canvas board) this morning. I have an idea for my next tree fantasy now!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY ~ Sorry I'm a day late in my wishes since it just turned February 15th but I hope you all had a wonderfully sweet and delightful Valentine's Day! I did this little digital painting tonight and I'm working on a new painting in acrylics tonight that is larger than aceo size this time. I hope I get it done soon to share with ya'll!

NEW ACEO PAINTINGS ~ I just finished 3 more mini paintings in acrylics on 140 lb. watercolor paper! I always start out with painting in the background colors then I take it from there with what's going on with the rest of the painting. I can see what is happening with them as the painting progresses and the title pops in my head as I'm finishing them. I just listed these in e-bay (link on the right side of my blog). I've been having wonderful luck selling my little aceos in there so far! It's a great feeling to see that people like and want to own a painting that you do. It's like being able to share your imagination and feelings with the whole world! COOL STUFF!!

FIREFLY SUMMER NIGHT TREE ~ This is an original surreal ACEO (3 1/2 X 2 1/2 inches). It is painted (heavily textured) with acrylics on 140 lb. watercolor paper and is signed LC in the lower right corner. This depicts a a fantasy of a warm summer evening night. The nocturnal creatures are just awakening and the fireflies are decorating the trees like little jewels! I just listed this one on e-bay today. ugh, the wind has been blowing all day and it's getting colder and colder here so it was fun to think of summer when I did this one!

BUBBLE TROUBLE TREES ~ I don't think these little trees are actually in trouble, they are just pioneers on a new and unchartered planet in the Universe. The are temporarily wearing their protective bubbles until they can get acclimated to their new planet! This is a little fun painting I did and it's acrylics on 140 lb. watercolor paper. I just listed it on e-bay tonight so I'll see what happens with it. This is the painting that originally had 6 trees until I cut it apart! I sold one as an aceo and now I have 2 trees left so maybe I can title it 'Double Bubble Trouble Trees' LOL say that 3 times real fast!
