My daughter, myself ~
I'm feeling sentimental tonight because I feel like such an empty nester...my daughter has moved out and is living with her boyfriend for the last couple of months. I hope they have many, many years of love and happiness together, and possibly even marriage in the future. I had one old photo from my High School graduation and I put my daughter's senior year photo with mine in a picture frame. I had always thought that she looked like my husband, but the older she gets I can see that she really takes after me! :D Anyways, my husband and I love and miss her a lot! I told her I am going to use her empty room for storing the Christmas stuff I just took down and hey, I can see a room to place all my art stuff in! I guess time marches on and this is just a part of life to see your children grow up and make their own homes and ways in life.

ah, I know how you feel :(
love your choker in your high school pic, i used to love wearing them lol!
Hi JB ahh it's hard to let 'em go but you know it's a natural thing to see them grow up and move away. :(
Those chokers were really in style back then LOL I'm talking in '72 (ancient times).
I had a choker like that too. Geez so long ago.
I see similarities. My daughter doesnt have the same features as I do, but somehow she does resemble me. I got to thinking that it could be more than just whether we had the same size or color of eyes or the same nose or lips, but where they are compositionally on our faces.
Yes Jan you're right, there are so many little things that make up a person. All the time mine was growing up she really favored my husband and his family. JB and Janet, how old are your daughters now? Mine is going to be 21 this August. You know I remember the day we had our senior pics taken. My first cousin had blonde hair and a blue drape but she had the choker and let me borrow it for my pic after hers was taken. She was such a good friend in H.S.

Oh Lynette, you're both beautiful! Your pictures side by side really do show your likenesses.
While my daughter is still too young to move, out, I know the day will come before I know it. : (
I totally love that choker and hairstyle!!! I moved out of my Mom's when I was 16, and never went back. She is still sad about it:(
*Hugs* thanks Cyn and yes I do miss her a lot and it's funny that even when they're all grown up you still worry about them just as much!
Hi lone beader...I think it's a natural thing for a mom to miss their daughters after they leave home but if ya keep in touch often by calling and visiting it makes it a lot easier! I know I'll get used to this and I think my husband is taking it even harder than me!
A timely visit to my post about the "Full Circle" thing! Kids become parents, who let their kids go to become parents. Parents parent kids and then parent their elderly parents ...it just recycles.
I had a cameo choker on a black velvet ribbon! (Circa '71...Gr. 12!) She looks very much like you!
M.O.I. you graduated one year before me then. Yes I thought about that when I was reading about the circle of life. My own mother has turned into a child again (alzheimers)and my daughter has grown up (not yet a parent but some of her friends are). It's funny but true how life does go in a circle!
Hi Lynette, both of you really look very much like each other!
Though my husband sometimes would 'plan' what to do after our sons move out (for which we have a long way to wait), I know it'll be hard without them under the same roof. I know my mother must feel the same way when both my brother and I moved out - feeling the sudden 'emptiness' and quietness at home...
You girls are both lovely ;)
Hi fenny, yes it is strange that her room doesn't have anyone sleeping in there anymore and it's just me and my husband at home now. Thank goodness she comes by really often to see us! It sounds like you have some time to enjoy your boys at home since they are young.
Hi Lisa, thank you so much! When she was younger she looked more like my husband, but the older she gets, the more she looks like me! :)
