THE JUBILANT CHERRY TREE ~ I just did this one last weekend and it's an ACEO size (2 1/2 X 3 1/2 inches) painted in a surreal style. It is painted with acrylics on 140 lb. watercolor paper. Have you ever tasted the delicious dessert called 'cherries jubilee' and do the trees the cherries are harvested from have to be happy? This little tree appears to be happy and is gladly giving up it's fruit for this tasty dessert! I listed this on on e-bay. I wanted to paint more than one last weekend but I just ran out of time. The other one I painted isn't finished and is in the 'doo-doo' stage right now!
Is anyone into genealogy, tracing your roots and seeing who your ancestors were? There's a family website I belong to that are descendants of my late Father and Grandmother's people the Yadons, and I just found out I was veeerrry distantly related to the late Marlon Brando!!! http://www.genealogy.com/famousfolks/marlonb/ OMG I've been having fun with that one and I teased my husband that he had better be nice to me from now on since he was the famous actor who had starred in the 'Godfather' movies LOLOL! I actually never even watched those movies because I don't care for violence in movies but I may have to now. His mother was a Pennebaker (Pennsylvanian German) and my ggggg?grandfather was married to one of the Pennebakers. Cool stuff! I told my daugher and she hardly knew who he was and her boyfriend said, who's Marlon Brando?? :) Oh well I was excited about it!

Jubilant cherries to make Cherries Jubilee! Who would'a thought . . .
I love this jubilant tree! It does seem to be bursting with joie de vivre!
Oh, Lynette? Can I have your autograph?
Thanks W.J. and hey when I said distant relative, I meant waaaaay back there but I can still have some fun with it hehe! I'll be signing autographs today at 3 LOLOL! :D
I really think it is amazing how much detail you get with such a small painting. It is lovely.
I like it.
Just a thought, include the toothpick you used to paint with in the sale.
Oohh. Just had another thought. Print a photo of one and turn it into a card and send it and the toothpick you used to the company that makes the tooth picks -- I bet they are Diamond brand. Let them know you like their product and let them know you have been selling them on ebay. Who knows.
Hi JB, thank you so much for the nice words!
Janet my Mom-in-law got me this little souviner toothpick holder (doesn't say what brand)and they are really sharp. That's the ones I've been using. My tiniest brushes always clump and I couldn't get them into a point anymore so that's when I started using the toothpics for the top of the tree with the little dots. Neat idea!
That's a good one, I like it, keep on with the good work!
Hello george c and thank you for visiting my blog and for the wonderful comment, it's much appreciated!
Hope you didnt think I was nuts for suggesting including the toothpick. Sometimes I just think too much.
BTW, have you thought of making a brush out of one cat whisker? :-) I made one for a friend who wanted a really really small brush. I havent a clue if she ever used it.
LOL Janet I was hoping you didn't think I was nuts for painting with one...those things get clumped paint on the end and then I just throw them away or find them in the bottom of the shoebox where I keep my paints. hehe yes I keep my paints in shoeboxes :D I never thought of using a cat whisker, that's a really good idea! Every now and then I find one in the floor that my cat shed and next time I find one I'll try that!
