MOUNTAINFALLS 1, TREE OF FIRE AND ICE, and MOUNTAINFALLS 2 ~ I just did these little paintings and they are all acrylics on 140 lb. watercolor paper and they are tiny landscapes (2 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches ACEO size).
It's so good to be back home! I was away for almost 2 weeks to stay with my Mom out in Kentucky and I want to thank everyone for the kind thoughts and well wishes for her. We had to place her in the rehabilitation part of the nursing home which was really hard to do but hopefully they will help her heal enough to walk with a walker eventually. She is a fighter and pretty spunky at times but I'm afraid that she is just getting really tired.
If any of you have an elderly person at home, it's a good idea to get rid of all the throw rugs. There was only one of those in the house where my Mom was staying and she tripped over it and fell and broke her hip, and they couldn't move it because it was under a heavy piano!
oops, forgot to mention that I'll be listing these for auction on Ebay and I'll see what happens with it.

I am glad to hear she is settled in a place where she is being cared for.
I haven't been doing my rounds on the blogs, so I am trying to catch up. My daughter graduated, street fair, visitors, and her birthday party tomorrow, then art events. Lots of fun but it will be nice to get back to some routine and quiet life.
Love the waterfall paintings, they are so beautiful.
I wish your mom the best on the road to recovery.
I love all three of these, but those waterfall paintings are so dreamy, I love them.
Thanks so much J.B. and a huge congrats on your daughter's graduation! It sounds like you have had some busy and very exciting events going on. I know what you mean, I am really behind on the blog visiting too.
Hi Kerri, thank you so much. It's hard to say what could happen but at least she is somewhere that is staffed with nurses and being cared for really well. I guess time will tell though, healing is a long process sometimes. I really enjoyed painting the waterfalls and will have to do more of them.
Lovely new little paintings. I am sure they will be a success.
Good that you took the time to get your mom settled.
Lyn, I love the new works, especially the waterfall ones,,so special!
Really glad you're back,,,,missed seeing you in the forum! (a bunch)
Seems like you were gone forever!
I know how hard it was to leave your Mom,,as mine is also in a nursing facility. There is tremendous peace of mind though, in knowing that she is well cared for.Know that you did the very best thing for her,,,,and that's what counts!
Hugs, & best wishes!
Hi Lynnie, glad to see you back :-D I hope your Mom will get better soon!
It's difficult decision to help family members move into an assisted living facility. My grandmother broke her hip at home and my mother couldn't care for her. I'm glad to hear you have her settled in. I wish her all the best in a full recovery!
Your new paintings are wonderful, and I especially like the waterfall ones best too.
Glad to know that your mother is doing ok.
Rugs can be awfully dangerous. Not good to slip on one of them.
Your watercolors look great. Thanks for sharing.
*HUGS*
You must feel relief to have seen her and have her settled in a safer place for now. I hope she does well there.
Janet, Babs, Flo, Cyn, Angela, MOI, big big hugs to youall! Thanks so much for the kind words. :) Babs I'm sending get well wishes for your Mom and Cyn the same for your grandmother!
We look after my Mum at home and the first thing I did was get rid of her free standing potbelly fire in the kitchen. It was just inside the kitchen doorway really, and I could just see her slipping and grabbing the hot chimney for support. Ditto the rugs - good to see a reminder on it. Hope your Mom continues to progress. Lovely work as always btw.
Hi Cath and thank you for the kind comment on my paintings, going to check out your blog now!
eek that sounds like a good thing to move the stove, it could have been a real danger to her. My mom had stopped picking up her feet when walking because of he Alzheimers and her mind had gotten a lot worse too. Just breaks our hearts to put her in a nursing home but it takes 2 people to get her out of bed and she's dependent on help for everything now. She had a caretaker who lived with her and another lady with the same thing but sadly my Mom is so ill we don't think she'll be able to go back with them now. :(
