Tree of Gold and Earth Meets Sky ~ Hi, I'm finally getting around to posting the pictures of the two acrylics paintings that I finished last weekend. The first one is 5 x 7 inches on 140 lb. watercolor paper and the bottom one is larger at 11 x 14 inches on Canson Canva-paper. I thought I had lost the second painting when it fell behind the dryer the other night! I like to set paintings in progress up on the shelf over the washer and dryer. There is good light up there and I can study them while I'm on the computer and change something if I need to. Anyways, after it fell behind there, I tried everything and couldn't get it out but my husband rescued it the next day and it was OK! I was afraid he would fall behind the dryer too LOL. Well another week is gone and TGIF!!!

Did you use alot of glazing layers on the tree? Looks like you have alot of depth.

Hi Janet, I didn't use any glazes or mediums, but this is done in several layers of color. I used my old cheap and splayed out paintbrush and got out my toothpick again for the little gold dots. Thanks!

oh boy, you are lucky it didn't get damaged.

The tree is amazing and so is your technique.

Hi Corinne and the Jafagirls!! Thank so so much for the nice words. Arrgh I was so mad when it fell behind the dryer, it was way up under the vent and I thought that painting was a goner. I had one shallow scratch on it but it sanded it with fine sandpaper. I was so relieved!

I love studying the horizon in the second, imagining what's going on there.
Glad you were able to do the rescue thing too!
