...and 'Christmas Lights' finished but I renamed it 'Through the Christmas Window'... eek come to think of it, I'm not too crazy about that title either. Ugh, sometimes it's hard to think of names for paintings and other times it just pops in your head easy as pie!

Do any of you use white gesso to make your canvases smooth before painting on them? The grainy weave of the canvas was bothering me so I tried putting two coats of gesso on, letting each coat dry first, then sanding with fine sandpaper. Woohoo, it works, I now have a very fine and smooth surface to try my next painting on!

It looks like a neat old English church window! This is really neat! not sure what I'd call it either.

It looks great.

I should double coat my canvases, but I am too impatient. While I dont really mind the texture, it does seem to affect the outcome of snapshots depending upon the lighting.

I used to gesso my canvas when I was painting....

This one reminds me of a rose window in a cathedral. Very nice - Lynette!

Thanks M.O.I. I ended up calling it 'Christmas through the Window', it's so hard to name them sometimes!
Awww thank ya Babs!
Janet, I was experimenting with it and I was surprised how smooth it turned out. That would be a lot of work on a big canvas though.
Thanks Cyn!
