Where did the water go??! ~ I took this picture (above) about three years ago at nearby Lake Chesdin, and I took the ones below two days ago. I'm starting to forget what having a rainy day feels like because of the severe drought and heat we've had this summer. We have been walking out on the dried up lake bed and it is nothing but acres and acres of deep dried up cracks with little shells, dried up tree stumps, and old tangled fishing line. I just know we will have some rain one of these days. At least the days and nights are getting a little cooler now.

Oh how sad! Hope you'll get enough rain the coming months so it will be a lake again!
Oh my gosh! This is actually scary! Where did all the fish go? This changing environment frightens me. I know the Earth will adapt but at what consequence?
Hope you get your lake back.
Did you get rain the other day? We have finally been getting some.
hope the water returns. water is the fluid of life
Thanks Jeannette, we've had some rain but still not enough to help that lake much. :(
It is scary Kate, the lake does go on the other side of the trees back there but it has been devastating on the wildlife in the lake I'm sure. There are lots of angry people saying the water in that lake reservoir was mismanaged, I don't know.
Janet we did get lots of rain for a couple of days but we are dry again.
Thank you Liquid & Amp, I agree.
Love these cracks in the ground;
