Many, many, many hugs to youall! Babs, Flo, Angela, Janet, J.B., Cyn, Terri all your kind heartfelt words are a real comfort, more than I can ever say! Things are a little easier today and I'm even thinking of doing some painting tonight. I'm glad she is free now and in a much better place.

Thank you M.O.I. for the comforting words. I admit that it almost seems to get harder as the days go by and the funeral almost seems unreal now, almost like a bad dream. I know that it takes time to heal though and I am trying really hard. I know it'll get easier as time goes by though.

My dad's mom died when she was 92 and he was 62 and he says for about a year, he'd think, "I must phone my mother" as he'd done weekly for years. he was the only kid and lived 5 hours away.
I guess when you don't see them a lot anyway, it doesn't seem to have really happened.

Hope you're doing okay with it.

Hi M.O.I., that is so sad about your Dad and I can believe it and it must have been really hard on him to lose her. It does make it somehow easier and somehow harder when you don't live right next to your parents and they get near the end of their life. I'm glad I was able to be with her for 2 weeks before the end. They tried to do rehab on her after breaking her hip but she didn't want any part of that, too painful and yes, she was wanting and ready to go. I have to keep reminding myself that she was almost 81 and she had a good and long life, that's a comfort. It is getting easier now but I guess it's something that'll never go away, missing her and my dad. Now I've got so many loving memories of her and my dad and that's helping me get through it, it's feeling a little less raw now.
