Old Tobacco Barn and My New Etsy Store! ~ I took this old picture of a tobacco barn in Kentucky many years ago and just finished this new painting from that old photo. It's funny that my painting looks entirely different than the photo but I'm happy with the way it turned out. It's acrylics on 140 lb. watercolor paper and 8 x 10 inches.
Well, I finally did it, I opened up my new etsy store! I've been hearing some great things about them and I'm thinking it will be a lot of fun. I hardly have anything in there yet but plan to add more and see how it goes. I'd be so grateful if some people 'heart' my store (hint, hint). I'm going to do that myself although I'm still learning the ropes. I'm not sure what to do next except add some items in my store and get to know some of the artists in there. It's a really huge site with so many members!

Your painting is great, really like how you did the sky.
Thanks Corrine (J.B.). I really like your new Jafagirlart blog! I replaced the pic of my painting tonight because I noticed it was waay too dark. I tried to make a print of it tonight and it turned out awful so I calibrated my monitor. Anyways the new pic looks much closer IRL.
And who but Lynnie would dress up a tobacco barn with jewels?
LOVE it!
Wow, you sold 3 paintings right off the bat! Congratulations! The shop looks really nice.
Great Barn pic.
Thanks Babs...I was going to try just painting a normal scene and still ended up 'decorating' it LOL!
Hey Janet, thank you and I think I'm going to love etsy, it has a much friendlier feel than ebay! The person that bought those 3 is somebody I know in WetCanvas and she surprised me! :)
Congrats on opening your Etsy shop and on the sales! I love your painting, and the photo is cool too.
Thanks so much Flo!
I just hearted you Lynette!! I think you should raise your prices, however...
You have given your tobacco barn painting the Lynette Clay treatment with your personal style!
Thanks Cynthia and I marked your etsy store a favorite too and I also bought your light blue ceramic earrings, I really love them!!! I am such a real dummy on knowing what to price my items. Cyn, do you mean raise the prices on the repro prints or the originals? I just listed the originals tonight.
Welcome to Etsy, Lynette! You'll either love it or be terrified by some of the personalities there. I'm usually about 20% love and 80% pure terror!
I saw your shop a couple of nights ago. Looks great! Now I'll go back and have a peek at the originals.
I'll double check -- I meant to "heart" you, but can't remember ACTUALLY doing it. Too many late (very late!) nights in front of the PC, I guess...
I really like this painting. I love the way you used the photo as inspiration but then completely took off in your own style!
And, yikes, aren't blue tones the hardest to get right when printing? I always try to outsource anything with a lot of blue in it. Let the pros worry about it!
