This is crazy, but it actually took me longer to paint this tiny ACEO than it did to paint the larger painting! I had ordered a box of pre-stretched canvases from Cheap Joe's a while back and they've been sitting in the floor unused ever since. They are 11 x 14 inches and 1 1/2 inches deep. I kept putting off trying to paint on them because I was so scared of messing them up. I am so used to painting the small ACEOs size ones. Anyways, last night I grabbed one of the large stretched canvas out of the box and with both feet, or both hands I should say, and my largest brush I tackled one of them. I was actually kind of happy with the way it turned out but I may tweak it some more though before I varnish it and call it finished.

Lynette! You should be happy with the way both of these have turned out! Wow! You know I love your trees and this is no exception, but I do adore your "blue" work! It is wonderful. Don't be shy about the canvases...if you use acrylics and don't like it, you can just paint over what you have done! I keep thinking about you painting on those small pieces and wonder how you do it! I am so glad you decided to go with the canvas, too. Show us the tweakings...
This is wonderful!
The swirls on the blue one really look 3D. You have been busy creating some great pieces.
Thanks Kim! I get really 'into' the tiny details and have been known to buy some pointy toothpicks to put in the dots of color LOL! I buy the tiniest brush I can find but the point always gets messed up somehow. I'm thinking of trying another big canvas tonight, that was fun.
Thanks so much Janet! I painted that big one so fast and just swirled the brush around.
Wonderful blazing tree trio!
(awesome background)
Such DEPTH in that swirly blue!
Great work Lynnie!
Lynette, my son does some modeling and also gets into that tiny detail. He has the same issue with the brushes. I have found some squeezy bottles with different tips and they might work for your tiny bits. I used to do a lot of very detailed work, but my poor hands have just decided I needed to give that up...age, I think :)
You just keep going girl...it looks wonderful.
Wow! You've been crazy busy and everything is wonderful! Your "Silver Tree With Heart" is my new favorite. It's absolutely gorgeous!
Thank you Babs, I sure had fun painting those, a little hot one and a big blue one!
Kim, thank you and the squeezy bottles sounds like a good idea, I'm going to search through my cabinets or try to find some at Michaels.
W.J.!! Hi and thanks so much, that's one I was trying out my pearl iridescent acrylics on.
Lynette, these are both excellent. I love the freedom and the color! of the blue piece. And I truly enjoy every one of your smaller works. The textures and colors are exciting and each one is a jewel of a piece. Great work!
They are both wonderful! Outstanding look to your work. I love the blue!!! *HUGS*
You shouldn't be scared of those canvases, Lynette - your work is terrific!
These two are really dynamic.
Back when I was painting, I think the aceos did take longer. A small canvas is so exacting.
Hi Kris and wow thanks so much!
Angela, hugs to you too and thank you so much!
Thanks Cyn and I'm trying to not think about messing up my 'good' large blank canvases LOL!
