Tulip Poplar Tree ~ Rob planted this tree in our backyard years ago (maybe 12, I lost count) and it's grown to be the prettiest tree in our yard.
It was a sapling when we rescued it from the fate of bulldozers. They were building a new subdivision down the road from us and we were looking for trees to save and plant in our yard. I think we got very lucky when we rescued this one. We feed and water the birds under that tree and when the wind blows through it's huge leaves it makes a neat sound when the leaves 'clap' together. It turns this lovely yellow color in the fall and in the spring we're treated to big yellow flowers which look sort of like tulips. I even made some digi art to honor our favorite tree. I hope everyone has a creative and lovely weekend!

I think the tulip poplar is a very pretty tree and had never seen one (or knew I had seen one) until this year.
Your digital manipulation kind of makes it looks you are looking at a vineyard through a grape arbor.
I like your digi art of your tree a lot :)
Janet we used to think it was an oak tree until a neighbor mentioned that it was a poplar tree. They sure have a pretty shape. I just have to do a digi every now and then.
Hi Corinne, thanks for the nice words!
good grief, my word verification is "gologoin" LOL.
Hi Lynnie,,,,I'm not familiar with these trees, but they look really gorgeous! Ours are turning now,,the cottonwood is bright yellow, and the Bradford Pear next to it a brilliant red. Quite a show!
Cool manip!
My word verification is:
frindles,,,,surely NOT!!!

Nice tree, Lynette! I like the fish eye lens effect too....
Thanks so much for your comments the past week - I'm just now playing catch up.
Babs, I bet your trees are just gorgeous right now with that red and yellow together. The leaves are almost gone on ours now and it's time to get out the rake. LOL on your word thing, you got lots and lotsa friends, my friend! Mine's hemicac tonight and that sounds like a disease or something LOL too funny!
Hii Cyn, thanks so much and I know what you mean about catching up, yikes!
It's a beautiful tree Lynnie! I missed most of autumn because I was working day and night, but things are more or less back to normal. I am visiting my parents in the country next week-end, I hope there will still be a few leaves... autumn was early this year.
Just looked at my word... atupessi. Sounds good :-P
Florence
Beautiful tree ! wow it has grown then! digi art looks cool too-- down the rabbits hole and Alice in Wonderland ... ;)
I love the colour of those leaves! and above all, love your photo with creative idea! :)
And to think, that amazing tree could have been gone... Great rescue story!
Leaves don't change here -- they get brown, then suddenly drop. No autumn in South Texas, just Summer, followed by 2 months of something that might be Winter, then Summer again.
Yuck!
Hey Flo, I'm glad you are finally getting a break, you must work a lot of hours and ugh I remember those days, it's so very tiresome. LOL your word verification sounds like some kind of medical device. :p
LOL thank you Terri, I had fun doing the digi.
Thank you for the nice words Fenny!
W.J. it's good to hear from ya and wow you have a short winter. We have those leaves all over the yard right now and a tornado watch today. Yep, I'm sure glad we rescued that tree!
The second art work is very pretty.
Thank you Gardedn and you have some very lovely garden photos in your blog.
