I found this big yellow poplar tree leaf on the ground today and oooh, it looked so pretty next to the pansies I recently planted. I couldn't resist getting some photos to share. I hope everyone has had a great weekend! We've had cold rain and drizzle, clouds, and wind for almost a week now, ugh I think winter seems to be coming early this year.

that is an awesome leaf and love the contrast with the pansies. just PLANTING pansies??? wow. You must be so much warmer than us up here in the freezer.
Yes, do enter the Pumpkin Headed Scarecrows. They are fun and scary.
Amazing what we can see in nature when we look close. Inspiration is all around us.
Love your pumpkin headed spiderwebed scarecrows! They should do well.
That leaf with the pansies would make a beauuutiful painting!
We are having frost here already, also.
Hey Suki, it was miserable weather here all last week and we had frost last night. The pansies like cold weather, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they will survive my planting though.
Thanks Chewy, you're right about nature! I wish I could turn that pretty leaf into an abstract painting, I loved the patterns and colors it had in it.
Brrr Kate, I think winter is coming early this year. Time to fire up the heaters lol!
What a great find with that leaf. Of course now I will be looking at leaves differently.
Thanks Janet! The tree that leaf came from was one that we rescued as a sapling about 14 years ago. Up the road from us, they were building a new subdivision and the husband and I went up there and dug it up before the bulldozers came...come to find out years after we planted it that it was a yellow tulip poplar and it is a huge and beautiful tree in the backyard now. Of course, my husband claims it as his tree because he picked it and planted it! :)
Fun pumpkin heads!
Love your Pumpkin Head Dancers Lynn, so very original!
The leaf is gorgeous, especially next to those pansies.
We saw wonderful leaf color last week closer to Arkansas. Not nearly as good a show in this area.
Still have lots of beautiful things to look at here! Love your flower art experiment. It certainly is fall here too. Leaves are blowing off daily!
Hi Kathleen, thank you so much, they were fun to paint!
Thanks Babs, the trees have been so pretty here, but those leaves are falling off really fast now.
Hi MOI, it's so good to hear from you. Winter is coming at us fast now, that's for sure.
